The Club's season finally got under way in Sussex with a two match Southern Tour.  Matches against the Old Amplefordians and the Sussex Martlets were played in glorious sunshine and a great spirit (and in full compliance with the ECB guidelines).

In both matches the Club batted second and failed to chase the targets set.  The Club lost off the last ball against OAs but held on for a draw 8 wickets down against the Martlets.   Following the drawn match, the Martlets, as the holders, retained the Sandy Ross Trophy, presented to them by Brian O'Gorman.

Highlights:

Martlets match saw 7 members of the Nolan family Connor - Jim and his sons Oliver, Hamish, Rufus, Conor and Mike and his son Will (whose 63 was the highest score on either side).  They all contributed to the matches and it is great to see the next generation of the Nolans involved.

Jim Nolan, proprietor of the Black Dog Vineyard, generously provided Man of the Match bottles of his champagne for both teams on both days.
