In the MCC Magazine Spring 2018 there is an article about the Butterflies of The Rhineland which describes the invitation issued by British Army of the Rhine (BAOR) to a number of clubs to visit Germany and play against teams of services stationed there; Butterflies was one of the five who accepted the invitation (the others being Free Foresters, Cryptics, Arabs and MCC).  

The last Cryptics tour to Berlin was in 1986; it was captained by Nick Priestnall
