Cryptics Cricket Club Won Cryptics win by 141 Runs

Match report Cryptics got off to a steady start after losing an early soft wicket following a good spell from the OA's openers. S.Elstone started to get into his innings and soon accelerated to his 50. After the wicket of Bhimjiyani with a sharp delivery and good catch from the keeper S.Elstone was joined by H.Eastman. Both looked imperious at the crease with free flowing shots; S.Elstone soon brought up his ton playing some lovely shots along the way. After Sam holed out to deep mid-wicket H. Middleton came to the crease; after hitting his first delivery for 6 that set the tone for the rest of the innings. H.Eastman brought up his 50 while Middleton at the other end was playing some exciting expansive shots and brought up his 50 in no time. Both batters really started to feast on a laboured OA's attack and the carnage was clear to see as the ball was flying over the boundary almost every ball. Both made their hundreds in no time before the declaration. An amazing score and batting display leaving the OA's 50 odd overs to try and survive.

OA's made a slowish start after a superb opening spell from C.Nolan, very quick bowling instantly putting the OA's on the back footy. Three early wickets made it seem as though the game might be over in a hurry however the middle order steadied the ship. OA stalwart Phillips brought up an elegant 50 before throwing his wicket away from a flighted delivery from Nicholls. From their Nicholls took a grip of the game bowling some lovely flighted off-spin always looking like taking a wicket. Barratt battled hard but Nicholls was too good in the end and got him caught at cover. A free-flowing innings from OA skipper Barnard looked like all that stood in the way of the Cryptics win and when he fell to Nicholls as well it looked like curtains for the OA's. They dug in leaving 7 overs to survive until; Middleton's leg-spin unlocked the last wicket to win the game for the Cryptics.
