Match report Was lovely to be back at Hurstpierpoint College welcomed by the Hurstjohnians again, Cryptics lost the toss and were put into bat. A great start for the team left Cryptics left them 1 down at lunch for 148 with J.Doole falling on the stroke of lunch for a well made 53, he looked very comfortable and played some lovely shots around the ground. S.Elstone not out at lunch continued his fine form for the Cryptics and not long after lunch brought up another 100 for the club with some magnificent shots around the ground, back to back hundreds for Sam on tour. Bhimjiyani dug in but was dismissed softly in the end for 23 which brought O'Donnell to the crease. S.Elstone fell shortly after after another attempted reverse sweep and Coburn joined O'Donnell. The two of them pressed on getting the Cryptics quickly up to 295 before time was called on the innings with the Cryptics scoring 674runs in 2 games of the Southern tour only losing 6 wickets in that time batting for only 98 overs (Bazball eat your heart out!)

Hurst made a super start on an increasingly flat wicket, C.Nolan again bowling at good pace seemed to be the only one to get any lateral movement off a flat deck. After looking like Stokes' 11 with the bat the same could not be said for the fielding, catches being shelled left right and centre allowed Hurst to build a commanding platform and it looked as though the large total set might be chased with consummate ease. Finally the first wicket fell to Nichols after another good spell following his 4fer the day before, he then got another to turn and dismissed Hall cheaply. Despite the couple of wickets the runs were still flying to the boundary and the run chase looked inevitable. Willscon was making light work of the Cryptics attack and Fairfax was batting well after his couple of lives early. Captain Wilson decided to put himself into the attack with 14overs to go and the game turned on its head, with a couple of quick wickets Hurst crumbled and the game went from a Hurst win to a potential unlikely victory for the Cryptics. Wickets continued to tumble and the last batsman was surrounded by all the players on the field, Hurst blocked out for a draw and a great end to a superb tour. Thanks again for Hurstjohnians for hosting and hopefully next time the Tics can get over the line!
