It is with huge sadness that I have to inform you of the death of Patrick Nolan on Friday 22 July. As you may have known he fought a battle against cancer over the last couple of years.
Patrick was a superb cricketer and one of the most delightful men you could ever meet. His last Cryptics' appearance was at Hurlingham this year where, although not able to play, he saw "his" team, captained by brother Mike, secure a very comprehensive win. It was lovely that so many of his family and friends were there either playing or watching.
Patrick will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I have written to his widow on behalf of the Club to express our sympathy.
The funeral will be at St Margaret's church in Ditchling at 1.30pm on Friday 5th August, afterwards at Ditchling Court. There will be some parking in the paddock. Patrick's widow Fiona says that he had very few wishes - but no black was one of them.
A notice will be in The Times on Tuesday 26 July.
