On a beautiful May day the Cryptics decided to bat first. Sadly, however, the top 7 were unable to produce the sort of performance that would be necessary to trouble the students; indeed, all but Will Gurney, who made a very creditable 44 succumbed to low scores. Nevertheless, Jasper Joyce and Mike Stafford added 28 and 23 respectively down the order to see us through to 126, which was slightly less embarrassing than it might have been when the score was 38 for 6! In response, Miles Covers bowled quickly and had the oppo in a few difficulties, but a half century from their opener saw the 'Tics home to a comfortable victory in the end.
