The 10 man Cryptics side posted 160-9 thanks to a half century from Robin White and late cameo from Tom Elstone and looked down and out at tea with Stragglers cruising towards victory.  Robin White and Mike Stafford pulled the Cryptics back into the game helped by some good catching and ground fielding but ultimately could not snuff out the final partnership.
