I hope that you and yours are well and looking forward to the easing of restrictions and getting your whites on for some glorious cricket in a season which promises to be one of the sunniest on record!

Our 2021 season is looking good: the fixtures are now on the website, with its refreshed appearance – we have not just been sitting around since last summer!  Have a look here and start clearing your diary.  It is hoped that members will play at least three matches every year.  As always, my request is DO NOT WAIT to be asked. (The exception to this is the MCC team which is managed by the Club centrally.) 

Log in and indicate your availability on the website. (In case you need a reminder or have forgotten your password: Username: ##login##      Password:  ##password##)    

Once logged in, from the dropdown menu in the top right hand corner select Match Availability and then use the dropdown list against each fixture to indicate your availability.  (The attachment has some screenshots to help.)  The Match Manager will be notified of your availability automatically and will be able to contact you directly. (If you have any difficulties in indicating your availability, please reply to this email and we will ensure the relevant MM gets to know of your interest.)

It is one thing to be in the Cryptics’ team for a match; it is something else to really look the part!  You can do this by wearing clothing from our new range. (See attached photo). At the Cryptics Club Shop at Serious Cricket, you can get playing and training kit as well as lots of other goodies.  Access to the Cryptics Club Shop is HERE.  We have negotiated a further 10% discount exclusively for Cryptics members valid for 7 days only until 21st March. At the checkout, enter the code CRYPTICS10; this discount applies to playing equipment too.

During the off-season, we have had a good look at the Club database.  This work has thrown up some missing or incomplete contact details and some subscription anomalies.  Please do have a look at your record on our database.  Go to Update profile on the drop down menu and be as inclusive as you can with your details. Do let the Hon Mem Sec, Nick Hodgson, know if you do this or have any trouble doing it. This would be helpful as he has been tasked with getting the database up to a standard that facilitates Club business more effectively. He may need to get in touch to help with this. Thank you in advance for your help.

Sadly the Dinner had to be postponed - again - and we are now aiming for a Saturday in the second half of September.  It will be at the OUOTC in Oxford and we will confirm the date as soon as we can.  The Tour to Valencia  also had to cancelled; we are in the process of rearranging for 2023!  Not 2022 because we are due to go to Sporting Alfas CC 9-12 April 2022 to mark the 20th anniversary of our first trip there.  I am delighted that there has been keen interest from players and spectators for this.  If you are interested in either tour, you can let us know here so we can be sure to keep you informed of the details as they emerge.
