A strong upper order batting display at Ascott Park saw the Cryptics make 257-8 including half centuries from Andrew McCulla (56) and Tom Gurney (70). The momentum was halted by an impressive second spell from B. Gravett who bowled five Cryptics in five overs to finish with 5-52.  In reply the Stragglers ten players all got a bat but finished some way short on 177-8, dismantled in the main by Joe Ireland (6-66).
