Alex Milton, a player from the Cryptic's team in recent West Midlands Tours, capped his Specsavers County Championship debut for Worcestershire against Somerset by scoring a century.
Coming to the crease on a hat-trick ball, with Worcestershire on 65-5, Alex went on to score an unbeaten 104 from 181 deliveries. His shared a record highest last wicket stand for Worcestershire (136 from 39 overs), in partnership with Steve Magoffin.
The wicketkeeper-batsman is a former Malvern College pupil, and has captained Cardiff MCCU this season.
